Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT), through its Women Empowerment Committee, organised a screening of the critically acclaimed Hindi film Neel Battey Sannata (2015) on 11 September 2026 at the GJIMT Auditorium. The screening was attended by 89 students from the Computer Applications and Management programmes.

The film highlighted important themes of education, women empowerment, gender equality, aspirations, self-belief, and social mobility. Through the inspiring journey of a mother and daughter, it emphasised the transformative power of education and the importance of perseverance, determination, and equal opportunities in achieving one’s goals.

The screening provided students with an engaging learning experience beyond the classroom and encouraged them to reflect on social and economic barriers affecting education and personal aspirations. The initiative also promoted empathy, social awareness, resilience, and gender-sensitive values, contributing to the holistic development of students.
